What colors should you paint the sun and the wind?
The sun rose and the wind blue.

When Betsy Ross asked a group of colonists for their opinion of the flag she had made, it was the first flag-poll.

A rooster pushes an ostrich egg into the coop and says to the hens, "Look, I’m not telling you what to do, I’m just showing you what can be done."

I won’t say my car is "used": The last time I drove up to a toll booth and the guard said, "Two-fifty," I said, "Sold!"

Mornin',

I’ve been ponderin’ the age old question of why one shoe string always wears out before the other one is even showin’ signs of weakness. I suppose ever’one pulls a little tighter on one tie or the other, puts one shoe on first ever’ time, things like that.

If there was any real money in changin’ shoe strings, I’m sure there would be some ad campaign tellin’ us to rotate the strings ever 6 months or 60 miles, which ever comes first.

Maybe I’m the only one who wears a pair a shoes long enough to actually need replacement strings. Onea the many things ya still can buy on the Square is a decent set a laces. It’s good ta know ya don’t have ta drive to keep your shoes maintained.

This is some fact, but mostly,

Q: I have a common asphalt driveway. Someone told me that I should apply a sealer to it. What type do I use, and what purpose does it serve.

A: Apply a blacktop sealer. There are several such products available at hardware stores and home centers, and most are pretty easy to apply.

The sealer protects the surface and might also keep any goo from coming off onto your shoes.

Q: I want to remove about 300 square feet of old asbestos tiles in my den before installing new carpeting. What is going to be the best way to do it safely?

A: Flooring manufacturers suggest that you don’t remove asbestos flooring if at all possible. If the asbestos remains dormant, there is no direct danger. Only when you disturb the asbestos is there any danger of creating dust particles that might be inhaled.

Since you are going to add carpeting , why not install the carpeting and padding over the old flooring?

If you do remove any asbestos products, be sure you read a brochure telling you how to handle it safely and dispose of it properly.

Your flooring dealer should have such information, or you can contact the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
