Did Ya Know?. . .The City of Carthage will be spraying for mosquitoes next week, Mon.-Fri., July 29th through Aug. 2nd. Your area will be sprayed in the evening of the day your trash is picked up, between the hours of 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. You may want to turn off attic and window fans while the sprayer is in your area.

EMMA McGREGOR’S GREAT RACE.

Won Out in Fifth Heat of 2:30 Trot at Galena Yesterday.

"Emma McGregor," the Carthage horse owned by E. Knell won a hotly contested race at the last day of the Galena speed events yesterday. It was a 2:30 trot for a purse of $150, and the starters were "Emma McGregor" driven by W. H. Daly of Pittsburg, and "Lady Lewis," owned in Pittsburg and driven by Chauncey Summer of Galena. The record of the race follows:

Mrs. Chas Turner entertained the Tourist club yesterday, and papers were given by Mrs. Tom Hackney, Miss Lizzie Thomas and Mrs. P. J. McNerney. The club decided to picnic next Thursday.
