Budget Slashes Come Easy.

The Budget/Ways and Means Committee lopped off over a half million dollars of the proposed budget by eliminating three capital improvement projects from the FY 1999-2000 budget on Monday evening. The largest amount , $370,000, was for street and signal light construction for the Myers Park Development. The project will be revisited if property sales are in fact completed during the year. The installation of electronic connections to the proposed fiber optic lines to be constructed by CW&EP was also considered to be a low priority for the City. The approximately $170,000 project could be phased in over future years. A request by the Over 60 Center for just over $100,000 for additional space was also was rejected.

These cuts and others throughout the evening added up to over $1 million in cuts in just under three hours. This brings the level of uncommitted reserves to approximately $1.4 million in addition to the proposed "emergency" reserve of $1.4 million. Further cuts are expected as the Committee moves through its next meeting on Thursday evening.

Mornin',

I see where they say there is a brisk market for sump pumps over the last couple a weeks. As a kid I was surprised that the newly constructed house we moved into had one of those contraptions in the concrete basement. Figured there shouldn’t be any water gettin’ into such a fortified structure. Over the years I was educated to the fact that basements get water in ‘em. Just a fact of underground domains in most parts of the country.

I’d have ta be guessin’ that more than a few pumps were workin’ hard just to keep up with the latest downpour. More than likely there are a few still completely underwater. Should keep the sales brisk even after the sun finally decides to come back to life.

This is some fact, but mostly,

Essential oils are extracts from various parts of specific plants, and the inhalation of essential oils is called aromatherapy. Essential oils are very beneficial for many different health conditions as well as other uses. Some common uses are citronella as an insect repellent, mint to freshen breath, lavender to relax and soothe the nerves.

There are many different ways to use essential oils, each offers different benefits. The most common use is inhalation by using diffusers, aroma lamps, lightbulb rings, etc.

Essential oils can be used individually or blended to enhance their qualities, they can also be purchased blended and are called synergies. Some essentials can be used topical, and are commonly used by many Massage Therapists to enhance the healing qualities of massage.

Most books stores have very good books on Aromatherapy if you are interested in learning how to use them in your life. When purchasing essential oils make sure they are pure whole essential oils.

There are a wide variety of oils on the market that are used for the flavor, fragrance, and the toiletry industry and they do not have the healing effects of pure essential oils.
